CHC40312 Certificate IV in Disability is funded through Skills for All program by South Australia/Commonwealth Governments, for students who meet the set out eligibility criteria.
Certificate IV in Disability [CHC40312] will take between 8 – 12 months. This time frame includes class time and supervised work placement of Work Placement either in a rehabilitation centre, disability centre, supported residential services facilities, disability community organisations or allied organisations.
On average a learner should allocate 25 hours per week for learning and assessments.

Successful completion of this Certificate IV Disability [CHC40312] course requires the fulfilment of 15 Units of Study: ten compulsory and five elective units.

Work Placement Program
Work placement is not optional; this course includes a compulsory number of hours of practical placement.
We understand the industry and can assist you in finding Work Placement. JTI Work placement Coordinator, JTI Trainers and the student will work collaboratively in securing a work placement.
^To attain your certificate you must complete both theory assessments and Work Placement.
^If your working with children check or police check have a previous conviction, you need to discuss this with a JTI trainer/Work placement Coordinator before enrolling in this course

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning is the process that recognises a student’s current skills and experience, regardless of where and when the learning occurred. Students may have existing knowledge and skills and these could be formally recognised and credited towards a qualification from JTI.
In order to apply for an RPL , students must complete an application for RPL form.
Students must provide evidence to the assessor to prove that they meet all the requirements of that unit. This evidence may include a portfolio of their work and/or experience and/or third party reports. Students may be asked to answer questions or participate in discussions with a trainer or a panel of trainers to ascertain under pinning knowledge to the standards required under the training package.

Credit Transfer (CT)
JTI recognises all qualifications issued under the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework). Original copies of certificate and transcript will need to be sighted by a trainer.
There is no fee for credit transfer.
If a credit transfer for Apply First Aid certificate is applied for, it must be current, including the CPR component which requires a refresher every year.

Language, Literacy and numeracy Assessment:
Prior to course commencement, students will be required to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment. This assessment is used to determine the student’s level of language, literacy and numeracy as required to complete the course and whether the student requires additional support. Students enrolling in face-to-face study will complete the LLN assessment on orientation day. Students wishing to complete their studies online will have a telephone interview with a JTI staff member. Students who are assessed as not having the required level of language, literacy and numeracy skills will be referred to external support networks to work with them on skill development in the required area/s. Students can re-apply for enrolment once they have developed skills in that area.

Assessments can be submitted via face to face classes or the online learning environment. Online students can submit assignments from the comfort of their home and receive assistance from qualified trainers, assessors and IT staff. Support is provided online through email, chat lines, live classes and via the telephone.
Blended Face to Face and Online Learning
Our face-to-face learning is delivered in several delivery sites which are located in Melbourne(Dandenong, Sunshine) and South Australia(Adelaide). Classes are held at a variety of times so as to be convenient and flexible for today’s busy schedules. All our students have both face-to-face and online learning available to them. Students can submit assessments online, which is available 24/7 and thus minimizing time lapse between submissions, marking and feedback. We encourage our students to take full advantage of our e-learning for studying and submitting assignments.
Classes are held regularly at various campuses in Melbourne and Adelaide. Campus timetables are updated every few weeks and are provided on the campus notice boards as well as on the JTI website. Online support classes are held weekly and all students are welcome to access these.
