Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer (RPL)

Recognition of prior learning is the process that recognizes a student’s current skills and experience regardless of where and when the learning occurred. COURSE DURATION

This course will take between 3 to 6 months and in special circumstances student will be given up to one year to finish. This time frame includes 7 to 14 weeks of class time.
On average a learner should allocate 25 hours/week of learning and assessments.

DELIVERY METHODS

Blended Face to Face and Online Learning

Our face-to-face learning is delivered in several delivery sites which are located in Melbourne(Mount Waverley, Dandenong, Sunshine) and Sydney. Classes for aged care course are held at a variety of times so as to be convenient and flexible for today’s busy schedules. All our students have both face-to-face and online learning available to them. Students can submit assessments online, which is available 24/7 and thus minimizing time lapse between submissions, marking and feedback. We encourage our aged care course students to take full advantage of our e-learning for studying and submitting assignment.


Classes are held regularly at various campuses in Melbourne & NSW. Campus timetables are updated every few weeks and are provided on the campus notice boards as well as on the JTI website. Online support classes are held weekly and all students are welcome to attend.

Online Elluminate support classes

We have online live classes on a weekly basis. In this class students interact with trainer and one another by asking questions and sharing experiences.

We have revolutionised the process of learning by availing aged care resources 24/7, everywhere, anywhere, all the time so much so that if you’re interstate or overseas, you still can study and submit your assignment. Additionally, we support aged care learning through several medium: email, chat line, live classes, phone or walk-in.

Entry Requirements

The requirements for this course are:

  1. A written/online application form
  2. Successful completion of language, literacy and numeracy assessment
  3. Identification Documents
  4. A Photo ID

It would be preferred if you are under 25 that you have completed year 10. And if you are over 25, you should have relevant work/life experience

Language, Literacy and numeracy Assessment:

Prior to enrolment in a course, students, will be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment which will be completed upon application.
This assessment is used to determine the student’s level of language, literacy and numeracy required to complete the course or whether the student requires additional support.
The outcome of the LLN test will determine whether the student is suitable for enrolment. Students who are assessed as not having the required level of language, literacy and numeracy skills will be referred to external support networks to work with them on skill development in the required area/s. Students can apply for enrolment again once they have developed skills in that area.


Assessment

To be competent in this qualification student will need to undertake assessments in the following formats:

  • Short Questions
  • Case Studies
  • Project and research activities
  • Portfolio of the student’s work

A summary of these assessments will enable the assessor make a decision on the competency of the student.

Assessment Submission

Assessments can be submitted via face to face classes or the online learning environment which we call “moodle”. Through moodle students can submit assignments from the comfort of their home and receive assistance from qualified trainers, assessors and IT staff. Support is provided online through email, chat line, live classes as well as on the telephone.
