An initiative of the Government of South Australia

Skills for All is a South Australian government initiative that is changing the way vocational education and training is funded in South Australia. South Australians now have the opportunity to gain more qualifications, many at low or no cost, through the training provider of their choice. Eligible courses under Skills for All CHC40312 Certificate IV in Disability

Eligibilty Requirements

You are eligible for a SA government funded training place if you:

  • Either live or work in South Australia
  • Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • Permanent Australian resident; or
  • The holder of a state sponsored visa on a pathway to permanent residency (Visa Types as below)

State sponsored visa holders on a pathway to permanent residency include:

  • Skilled – Regional Sponsored (provisional) Visa, subclass 475 and subclass 495
  • Skilled – Regional Sponsored (provisional) Visa, subclass 487
  • Skilled – Nominated or State Territory Sponsored, subclass 489
  • State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (provisional) Visa, subclass 163
  • State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive (provisional) Visa, subclass 164
  • State/Territory Sponsored Investor (provisional) Visa, subclass 165

Some other visa types may allow the primary visa holder and/or their dependents to access Skills for All funded training. You can call the Infoline to check.

Additional Requirements

You also need to be one of the following

  • aged 16 years or over and not enrolled at school; or
  • aged 16 years or over and enrolled in school and undertaking substantive vocational education and training (VET) within the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) as part of the Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS) provided that the vocational education and training is part of a Course that is endorsed as available forTGSS enrolment; or
  • enrolled in school, whether aged 16 years or not, and entered into a training contract (as that term is defined in the Training and Skills Development Act 2008 (SA) to the extent that the Course is part of the training contract; or
  • not enrolled in school, whether aged 16 years or not, and entered into a training contract (as that term is defined in the Training and Skills Development Act 2008 (SA) to the extent that the Course is part of the training contract.

The government funded training available to you will depend on your employment status. Individuals who are actively seeking work and registered with Centrelink for the purposes of receiving the following benefits will be considered ‘unemployed’:

  • Newstart Allowance
  • Youth Allowance
  • Age Pension
  • Disability Support Pension
  • Parenting Payment (single) or
  • Parenting Payment (double
