Applications Are Now Open for 2023 - Early Childhood Education & Care Course!

While pursuing their early childhood teaching (ECT) degrees at Victorian universities, students are now able to apply for JTI's 2023 Skills First Program, which will provide financial assistance.

Early childhood educators who are upgrading from a certificate to a degree in the field are supported by the free programme, which is offered in collaboration with the Victorian Government.

By providing free access to the Skill's First Program, this project acknowledges the huge demand and need to help the upcoming generation of early educators.

Applications for 2023 have been launched by JTI as the early childhood education and care (ECEC) industry prepares for a 22% rise in labour demand by that year, with 9,000 openings to fill only this year.

Invaluable assistance is offered through Skill's First, including mentorship, peer-to-peer support, and assistance with transitions.

This is done in response to the enormous need for early childhood instructors throughout the entirety of their degree (ECTs).

In order to assist participants' ongoing success, the programme also provides access to a variety of online resources, biweekly face-to-face meetings, and specialised webinars.

In a moment when the demand for early educators is outpacing enrollments and university completion rates are declining, we need creative programmes like this one to draw in and keep prospective teachers throughout their academic careers.

Must know: Why Should You Study Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care ?

According to data from ACARA, just 13.5% of early childhood education majors complete their degrees on average. The Skill's First Program offers considerable assistance to students so they may successfully finish their degrees and be prepared to go on to the next phase of their careers.

The Skill's First Program offers chances to assist early childhood education specialists in achieving two key objectives:

1. Boost their capacity to have an influence in practice.

2. Greater income potential and career potential.

The following requirements must be met by applicants for government funding:

  • You should have a relevant job and life experience if you are above 25.
  • If you are under 25, it is preferable that you have finished year 10.
  • Before enrolling you in the course, we must receive additional permission from your parents if you are under the age of 18.
